Don't miss the return of Lindsey this coming Saturday. Oh yeah, it's also the 2nd day of the Laser season. First gun on at 1pm. Skippers meeting at 12:30. The dynamic duo of Lindsey and Corrine will be RC'ing. Don't miss the action.

Day 1

This past Saturday was the first official day of the OCYC Laser racing season. Unfortunately due to some early season fleet member commitments only 6 boats rigged up and left the beach. However those that did go out were treated to not only fluky, inconsistent wind, but very hot and humid temperatures too.

Anyone interested in learning how to Race Committee please let me know. It's easy, you stay dry, and you are sitting next to a full cooler. Not bad.
Spectators, club members, and friends if you have nothing to do on Saturday the 19th come down to the club, sit in one of the new Adirondack chairs, and witness some great one design racing. Then stick around after the race and enjoy and icy cold beverage with the fleet.

Practice Day

What does BBQ, beer, and Laser racing mean? It means Memorial Day is here and the OCYC Laser Fleet is back sailing again. Saturday May 29th was the unofficial start to the 3rd season of Laser Racing at Old Cove. 14 boats rigged up and were treated (or abused) by a gusty southwesterly breeze which challenged most of us.
The fleet welcomed new members Jim Ryan, John Brown, Bill Archer (on RC duty for the day), Tom Wacker, and Jeff Talon.
4 races were held with unofficial top scores going to Dan Kuehn, Joe Turchiano, and Stefan Kuehn.
The first official day of the season is next Saturday, June 5th.
